An Australian TV channel has made an on-air apology for cutting to an advert break midway through a bugler's performance of The Last Post.
Channel Seven cut to the ad break in their Sunday night broadcast as the crowd and players at the Melbourne Cricket Ground stood to attention in an Anzac tribute ahead of the Richmond v Melbourne AFL game.
The move sparked an angry response from viewers who couldn't believe the perceived insensitivity of the network as the channel broadcast an ad for the cooking show My Kitchen Rules.
After the game network presenter Hamish McLachlan apologised on air, saying they were issuing a "full apology, an unreserved apology from everyone at Seven".
Channel 7 cut off the last post to go to an ad break. As bad as it gets as far as I'm concerned.
