Bemidji State athletics director Tracy Dill announced Thursday that the university and RP Broadcasting reached an agreement that will let the Beaver Radio Network continue to be the exclusive home of BSU athletics through the 2020-21 season.
“We look forward to continuing our relationship with RP Broadcasting,” Dill said in a news release. “As a broadcast partner, the Beaver Radio Network staff has year-after-year raised the bar with their comprehensive coverage of our athletic programs and events. We are confident that this partnership will continue to grow and allow us to bring Beaver Territory to our fans and alumni from all over the world.”
Beginning with the 2016-17 athletic season, terms of the agreement call for at least 137 BSU athletics events to be broadcast live each year. The 2016-17 season gets underway Sept. 1 when the BSU football team hosts Upper Iowa in the season-opener. The game will be the first of 11 BSU football games to air on The River 92.1.
RP Broadcasting will also air the entire men’s and women’s hockey schedules on Mix 103.7 and 1300 KPMI, respectively.
For the first time, the Beaver Radio Network will also carry the entire men’s and women’s basketball season. Both programs will call Talk Radio 1360 home.
In addition, a minimum of five select BSU baseball games and five soccer, volleyball and/or softball games, at the discretion of RP Broadcasting, will be will be carried on Talk Radio 1360.
