Eagles sign multiyear radio broadcast rights agreement

Wednesday, Apr 01, 2015

The Philadelphia Eagles and CBS Radio have agreed to a multiyear extension of a broadcast partnership to air play-by-play coverage of all Eagles games on SportsRadio 94WIP. Financial terms and the length of the contract were not revealed but the new deal begins immediately.

The agreement calls for all Eagles pre-season, regular season and post-season games to continue airing on WIP and includes new elements such as an HD Radio station devoted exclusively to the Eagles 24/7 with year-round programming. CBS Radio’s Philadelphia stations have aired the games since 1992. Games will air on WIP and the 11 station Eagles Radio Network across the region.

Returning to the booth are Merrill Reese, the NFL’s longest tenured play-by-play announcer, and color commentator and former Eagles All-Pro wide receiver Mike Quick.

CBS Radio Philadelphia has been locking key talent and reaching agreements with its major broadcast partners in recent months. It agreed in September to a one-year extension with the Philadelphia Phillies to air games on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT and SportsRadio 94 WIP. And in December, it reached three-year contract extensions with morning show hosts Angelo Cataldi and Al Morganti.

The Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers have broadcast agreements with WIP’s rival, 97.5 The Fanatic, which is owned by Greater Media.
