iHeart Sports Radio And TexasHSFootball Announce New Broadcast: The New Radio Broadcast Hype

Saturday, Aug 20, 2016

Each Saturday morning of the 2016 fall season, beginning next week, football fans can juice up with a new radio broadcast called The Hype. The new show will broadcast on iHeart Sports Radio and will give fans an early morning dose of high school scores and updates from under the Friday night lights and will pump listeners with adrenaline over the college team match-ups for the day.

The Hype is a program of and extends our Texas perspective on everything the pigskin touches. Former NFL offensive lineman and President and CEO of Brian DeMarco hosts the show each week. His professional, on-the-field experience with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Cincinnati Bengals provides a unique view of the sport. When a player falls, he feels it. When a team messes up, he calls them on it. And when praise is worthy, he doles it out.

Joining DeMarco as co-hosts of the radio broadcast are T.J. McAloon and Kyle Spishock. McAloon covered college football for the website Bleacher Report and hosts his own podcast that covers sports and a wide range of pop culture topics. Spishock is a former editorial contributor to sports websites SBNation and FanSided.

The trio co-host team promises to bring a passionate but light-hearted commentary to the coverage of high school and college football, including insight into players, coaches and the teams fans love.

“Our goal is to bring you the story behind the story, and get to the essence of what the true driving force behind this sport is: the people,” DeMarco said. “We’re not just going to talk about the buildup to football or the aftermath of football. We’re going to bring you the gritty reality of football, with all its fanfare, heartbreak, elation, pain, and triumph,” he said.

The Hype will bring you exactly what the name implies: Extravagant and intense coverage of the greatest sport in the world in the best state in the nation for football. Tune in on Saturday mornings, starting next week. You won’t regret it.
