Saturday, Feb 20, 2016

IMG has renewed its agreement with the PGA of America to distribute international broadcast rights for the PGA Championship and the Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid until 2021.

The new agreement, which officially begins in 2017, extends the relationship between IMG and the PGA to 35 years, having begun in 1986. Rights for North America are not included.

“The PGA of America is proud of its association with IMG, a trusted partner in expanding the global reach of two of our most prized major championships,” said PGA CEO Pete Bevacqua. “As we celebrate our Centennial, the PGA and IMG will continue to advance the value of PGA Professionals, while sharing these great championships with millions of viewers worldwide.”

This year’s PGA Championship will be played at the Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey, July 28-31. It will be the 98th edition of the Championship, which began in October 1916 at Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, New York.

The 77th Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid, the most historic and prestigious event in senior golf, will be played May 26-29, at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The Senior PGA Championship was first played in 1937 at Augusta National Golf Club.

“We have a long and well-established relationship with the PGA of America and are delighted to be extending our partnership through 2021,” says Ioris Francini, President of IMG Media. “The PGA Championship annually delivers compelling storylines and is conducted on great courses with the world’s top players. It remains a signature event on the sporting calendar, and we will strive to increase viewership around the world.”
