German broadcaster Sport1’s digital radio station has acquired a unique audio rights package from Uefa for the 2016 European Championship.

The deal will see broadcast all 51 games from this summer’s international soccer tournment, with video-on-demand highlights available on and the Sport1 mobile application.

On the final matchday of the group stages, listeners can follow concurrent games live in conference mode, while all of the German national team’s matches will be broadcast live. All other games will be available on demand.

“The European Championships are the highlight of the 2016 soccer calendar,” said Olaf Schroder, chief sports officer and chairman of the management at Sport1.

“Our viewers, listeners, and users can look forward to comprehensive 360 degree coverage.”

The 2016 Uefa European Championship will kick off on Friday 10th June, when hosts France play Romania at the Stade de France. Germany begin their campaign against Ukraine at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille on Sunday 12th June.
