The Detroit Tigers, who open the season Tuesday, are on a different set of radio stations in the Grand Rapids market this yeaer.
iHeartMedia Inc. has obtained the local rights to broadcast the Tigers games on WOOD (1300-AM, 106.9 FM) and WMAX-FM (96.1). Their plan is to broadcast all weekday night games and weekend games on WOOD and all weekday games (before 3 p.m.) on WMAX, also known as ESPN 96.1.

Tigers games previously had been broadcast in Grand Rapids on WLAV-FM (96.9) and WBBL-FM (107.3). Those stations had been broadcasting the games since 2007.
The other area station that carries the Tigers is WHTC-AM (1450) out of Holland.
The Tigers' first game is 7 p.m. Tuesday in Miami.
