Yahsat, a leading satellite broadband provider for Africa, has launched new services under a partnership with internet services provider iWay Africa.
This is expected to improve satellite broadband connectivity in Uganda via its Yah click services.
Speaking during the launch in Kampala last week, Yahsat Regional Director for Africa Kevin Viret said the partnership will create high speed broad band via satellite to internet users in Uganda where penetration is still very slow and dominated by telecom companies.
“We are delighted to launch our new services with iWay Africa to deliver Yah-clicks quality high speed broadband via satellite to Uganda . We value the local experience iWay Africa brings to the partnership and believe today’s launch will help in driving reliable connectivity across the country,” he said
According to him Ugandan will get Instant connectivity national wide to the internet via small satellite dish and satellite modern anywhere in Uganda .The satellite technology provides reliable weather –proof internet services without the need for terrestrial Infrastructure which are very expensive to the services provider .
Godfrey Sserwamukoko, the iWay Africa Chief Executive Officer said the partnership will enable iWay Africa Uganda to offer Ka band VSAT connectivity in areas are not currently covered by other services providers like the telecom companies.
“The partnership is going to support iWay to improve on our infrastructures and this will also lead to quality of services to be offered by iWay Africa Uganda” he explained
