Polte Announces Collaboration with Deutsche Telekom to Extend IoT Localization Technology

17 April 2021

Polte, a pioneer in Cloud Location over Cellular (C-LoC) technology, announced that it has partnered with Deutsche Telekom (DT), Europe's largest telecommunications company, to implementation of large-scale pilot projects for customers with Polte Location API technology. DT wants to use Polte's patented technology to improve the accuracy of mobile networks and improve asset tracking for international users. The project is currently in the phase of commercial verification. This is done by some prominent DT IoT customers who require universal asset visibility. To learn more about how Polte and DT are revolutionizing localization or to learn how to participate in the pilot program, visit https://iotcreators.com/en/iot-location-api/.

Polte is a leader in mobile 4G / 5G localizations, providing the most accurate and secure indoor and outdoor localization data for connected devices around the world. Polte enables global visibility with significantly higher accuracy than Cell ID technology, which simply extends existing mobile networks and the cloud. With Polte's simple application programming interface, customers can eliminate the cost and hassle of additional hardware, access points, or wiring beacons and achieve a fast return on investment. With a different approach and reduction of computing load from "edge to cloud," Polte extends the battery life of connected mobile devices while protecting location data.

DT has previously announced that it will work with Polte on IoT Solution Optimizer , a solution designed for companies looking to deploy reliable, battery-powered mobile IoT solutions at a reasonable cost, from asset tracking to smart cities.

"DT is honored to work with Polte to find industry-leading industry localization capabilities with customers who require universal asset visibility without the need to build additional infrastructure," said Jens Olejak , Director of New Approach Technologies at Deutsche Telekom IoT .

Customer pilot projects are planned for April 2021 to begin on the Cat-M (LTE-M) and NB-IoT networks in Germany, in subsequent phases across Europe. The time to commercial use will depend on the results of this commercial verification phase.

"Polte provides much higher accuracy than competing mobile location-based technologies such as Cell ID," said Ed Chao, CEO of Polte. "We look forward to working with DT to extend the cost benefits. performance and security among customers around the world and helped more companies provide valuable intelligent indoor and outdoor localization. "
