SKY, the largest satellite pay-TV operator announced the construction of a new Broadcast Center (BC) in Jaguariuna, Brazil with R$ 1.3 billion investment.

Features:

The new Broadcast Center, which will be ready in 20 months, will be one of the world's largest and the most modern center in Latin America. The company will invest R$ 1.3 billion, including satellite, equipment, construction and other items required for their operation.

The new BC, which will serve not only Brazil but also other DIRECTV operations in South America, will have three times the capacity of the current center, which will operate partially from the beginning of Jaguariúna operation.

The Broadcast Center of Jaguariúna is expected to generate 200 direct jobs and hundreds of indirect jobs in the region. The installation of the new broadcast center will stimulate the development of Jaguariúna and its region, generating jobs and income for the population", highlights the deputy governor and secretary of Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation, Márcio França.

The new satellite (SKY B1) will be launched in the second quarter of next year, in time to be used for the broadcast of the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
