European pay-TV operator Sky Plc is investing $45 million in Southeast Asian streaming service iflix.

Sky is the lead investor in a new funding round for iflix aimed at helping the streaming service accelerate its growth in Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, as well as push into new markets in the Middle East and Africa.
Iflix has more than 1 million subscribers in Southeast Asia and offers an array of content including Hollywood shows and regional shows and movies.
